Playtime

Think back, do you remember the last time you played? I mean really played, let your hair down and let it all out. Running wildly around the backyard checking over your shoulder to see if they are catching up yet. The biggest smile on your face, laughing, really laughing. Can your legs go any faster, maybe just a little more and I'll make it around the corner before... oh man, he got me.. now I'm it... YEAH!!! ok now run, I'm gonna get you. More wild running, laughing, smiling, hair blowing in the wind, faster, faster, I'm almost there, I can almost touch...oh no, face down in the grass...laughing even louder now!! All gather on the cool green grass. Look up...hey do you see that dinosaur? Yeah, it's a BIG ONE! It's got big teeth. Hey I see a sheep and a monkey, yeah, me too! Hey you wanna go on the teeter totter? Up, down, up, down, up down.....

The power of play. Sit and watch a while, listen, really listen and you'll be amazed, awed and drawn back to the simple things, the precious things and although we may like what we have become and are proud, there's nothing better than the play of a child.
