Let's see what to do with a snow day? First we celebrated Darrin's birthday. He got his presents, cheerios for breakfast and has been installing his new hard drive on his computer. He wanted one of his presents to be having all of the kids watch, but we all agreed that was pushing it.
So instead he got some quiet time as I took the kids to their preschool/daycare Christmas party. Most of the parents work at places other than school, so their kids were there already. Kind of fun 4-wheeling in a mini-van...NOT!!!! But we made it, exchanged gifts, played reindeer games (they really did!) and then headed for home. Stopped for gas for the snow blower (I know why was I doing that with 4 kids in the car when we all knew the storm was coming for days now??? Good question), drove home, turned into the snow drifted drive and yup, you guessed it, got stuck. Good ol' 4-wheelin' van! Rocked her back and forth enough to pull up next to the driveway, out of the way of cars (who am I kidding, who is going to go by), but definitely in the way of the snow plow (who am I kidding again, they won't be here until Sunday!) Kids walked through snow up to the twins thighs and we all made it inside just in time for pizza.
Now I think I will do the dishes, put the twins down for a nap, get the Christmas cards ready and make a phone call to accept my NEW JOB!!!!! Yes, you are reading correctly. Over the last two weeks I have been interviewing for a job with Clinton county RESA to get a position right her in DeWitt. I will be working in the schools here about 3-4 days a week and then be in an elementary school in St Johns one day per week. I wasn't actively seeking the job but kept hearing more about it so I finally applied and was given the offer on Wed evening. So after 14 years with Grand Ledge, I'll be moving on, kind of wierd. But good, time for a change. I'll keep you posted on how it all goes.
Take care, gotta go get Darrin motivated to go out and snow blow.
