The build-up, the excitement, the contemplation over costume choice, worry over the weather, plan for every minutes what needs to be done. Costume...check, hair...check, make-up...check, candy bag...check, dinner...check (well not really, too excited), bathroom...check, coat...check (too warm forget that), camera...check, libation for 6 adults...check, dog...check (not my idea), wagon...check (nope forget that too, no one wants a ride), candy passer-outer...check, witch, clown, kitty, doggy, volleyball player, "woman", werewolf, jewelry salesman, Mexican lady, witch #2 and boy with hurt foot (ask Sheri)...check...................SIREN...............................CHECK!!!!!!! AND GO!!!
Back home, 8 sugar buzzes, over 1200 pieces of candy, one skinned knee, two skinned hands, 34 sore feet, one cough, warm night, fire burning, family, friends, good times. Hope you all enjoyed, we did!
Now it's time to put away Halloween and settle in for November, a month of uncertain weather of all kinds. A time for us to keep our heads up and look for the warmth in our lives as the month gets colder. A time to reflect on what we hold dear to our hearts and what is means to us. A time to realize that in each and every day there is good. Sometimes we need to look at others for our inspiration. A time to begin getting ready for Christmas, but slowing enough to give thanks for all that we have and all that we are. Don't let the cold on November settle into you, feel the warmth, the joy and the love of those around you. Be thankful for them and for you! I love you all!
